Wedge shaped inferior edge with blunt tip and front notch for engaging iris
This instrument was designed for the Fukasaku "snap & split" phaco technique. The short, wedge shaped tip is used to crack the nucleus in the "safe central area" while the smoothly polished, notched superior edge is used to push back the iris for better visibility.
